Rock pool before and after
Desperately in need of repair, this pond was in a terrible state. The pond liner was torn, the area was heavily overgrown and in a general condition of disrepair. We arrived on scene removing everything from the pond and taking up the surrounding paving. The concrete base was broken away and the pond dug deeper to allow for a greater diversity of plants and wildlife. New planting shelves were installed and a footing put in place to support the rock which was to be re-used from the existing supply on site. Rather than simply re-instating a dull unimaginative ring of rock around the pond edge like there was previously, we created outcrops further into the pond to plant amongst and broke up the outer sections with cobbles to create a more natural and inspiring look. The paving was re-laid with a greater area on the waters edge allowing more room to view close up.
“After several years of neglect our garden pond had become an eyesore and for some time we had been meaning to have the liner replaced. Subsequent to discussions with Paul, he suggested several creative enhancements to the design of the pond which would not only improve the visual aspects but would also provide a better environment for wildlife. These were adopted and implemented resulting in a pond which has become one of the focal points of our garden as well as giving us much pleasure. – the wildlife also seem to enjoy it.
Paul worked really hard on the project and we have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who is looking for a good and reliable landscape contractor.
